Running pmie hangs the shell (when using a verbose option like -W).
For example:
pmie -W -h host -c config
...runs fine, but then a ^C returns to the shell, which gives a prompt and then
is unresponsive to any and all keypresses. A scan of the ps shows that pmie is
still running with the -W option. This pmie process will shutdown cleanly with
a kill command; the shell requires kill -9 (if that even works).
I suspect that pmie is taking stdin and stdout and not releasing them, and not
stopping on a ^C, but I can't determine if that is the case.
In my case, these are the stats:
Shell is pdksh (5.2.14)
System is Red Hat Linux 7.3 with the SGI Installer Disk used, and the default
SGI kernel running (2.4.18-4SGI_XFS_1.1).
The hardware is a Compaq Deskpro 2000 Pentium MMX, 64M RAM
pmcd is v2.2.2
