fyi - there is some code in libpcp for parsing time windows
... see pmParseTimeWindow(3).  most of the tools in the base
pcp rpm will use this routine when parsing their -S and -T
options, as described in the PCPIntro(1) man page in the `TIME
WINDOW SPECIFICATION' section.

it might save you some coding effort here.
