   I can't find any references to these fields in struct kernel_stat.
   Can they be removed...or is there non-kernel code that needs to
   have them in the kernel?

I don't know if I replied to this already, but I will be
applying this patch because:

1) Randy is right, the members are not used anywhere
2) This structure is not exported in any way outside of
   the kernel.
