It does not bother me, it seems no worse than using/allowing a proprietary
ethernet driver. If by some chance someone makes a better IP stack
and plugs it in, it might provide some useful competition. If the
licensing politics are too much for some people to handle, then
you can create a GPL-only symbol that must be exported, or some
hack like that.
