Hi,
found arp helper daemon in the latest iproute2..however i am trying to
compile it with the ppc82xx_gcc for our ppc platform but ARPD give me link
error for func __db185_open...anybody has any ideas for this ???

Try a recent version of iproute2 (iproute2-2.4.7-now-ss020116-try)
from ftp://ftp.inr.ac.ru/ip-routing/
