Hi,

the plip driver doesnt work on ppc. The ip address of the local machine
is screwed up. Any hints how to fix it?
The kernel is a 2.2.17pre6.

ifconfig plip0 192.168.2.2 irq 9 io_addr 0x3bc pointopoint 192.168.2.1 up

local:

plip0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr FC:FC:C0:A8:02:02
          inet addr:0.0.3.188 P-t-P:192.168.2.1 Mask:255.255.255.255
UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0

banana:/usr/src/OLAF/linux-2.2.16.SuSE # netstat -rn
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS Window irtt Iface
10.10.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.0.0 U 0 0 0 eth0

That works fine on an i386 machine.
No special dmesg output.

parport0: PC-style at 0x3bc, irq 9 [SPP]
parport_probe: failed
parport0: no IEEE-1284 device present.
NET3 PLIP version 2.3-parport gniibe@xxxxxxxxx
plip0: Parallel port at 0x3bc, using IRQ 9
