Respected Sir,
I am a student of Indian Institute of Science from the department of
Computer Science and Autmation and i am doing my final
year project.
My project involves the implementation of extensions to RSVP protocol
for traffic Engineering.
But before that i am teting the exisitng software of RSVP. and at
present want to use it for reserving resources like bandwidth for a
particular session.
I came acrross u'r code wherein u have developed the actual treaffic
control interface to the Kerenel. But is it that before using RSVP over
the traffic control. I need to configure Traffic Control inside the
Kernel?
I then used your TC utility which helps us in doing this configuring of
Traffic Control. (that is creation of Queueing discplines and classes and
filters).
I would be very much grateful to u if u can advise me as to what kind of
Queueing discplines and classes need to be configured over the interface
so as to use RSVP over it.
I have tried ussing the cbqinit.eth0 in the TC package and then starting
rsvpd but it doesnt seem to make any reservations. Can u tell me what can
be the problem . Do i have to change anything in the the cbqinit.eth0
script. or can u direct me to some other initailsation script.
Please advise me so that i can use RSVP to make actual reservations.
(for eg. say i want to reserve some bandwidth for ftp session between two
machines then what do i do?)
I will be most grateful to u if u can help me on this issue.
I am sorry for taking much of u'r time.
Thanking in advance
Yours sincerely
Prasanna
