More specifically, will there be a ProPak built on RH7? Or are some/most of the features of previous ProPaks built-in to RH7? I'm most interested in the NFSv3 kernel implementation and XFS. I know that I can get the XFS 0.9 overlay for RH7, but what about NFSv3? Thanks, Ken -- Kenneth Murchison Oceana Matrix Ltd. There are some features that we decided wasn't all that important unless you bought one of our solutions (ACE, ISE, etc) so we just pushed them up into the solution packs. So ProPack 1.4 for ia32 will be the last ProPack availible. > I'm most interested in the NFSv3 kernel implementation and XFS. There may still be a couple of issues in the 2.4 kernel and we are working thru that. They should be resolved by the time RH releases a supported version of the 2.4 kernel. XFS isn't in RH7.0, and I'm not sure about 7.1 (that's up to RH). We have made availible the beta as you have seen. Remains to be seen whether XFS will get accepted into the stock kernel first, or RH will adopt an XFS patch frist, or whether we decide to productize a solution around fileserving to deliver XFS first. This is the nature of linux development. Right now the prioroity is to finish off the rest of the XFS TODO list for a 1.0 release. -- John Wright - SGI | Email: jwright@engr.sgi.com Scalable Linux Manager | Voice: (650) 933-8899 1200 Crittenden Lane MS:30-3-500 | Pager: (650) 254-9296 Mountain View, CA 94043 | Alpha page: jwright_p@pager.sgi.com From owner-sgilinux@oss.sgi.com Fri Feb 9 18:42:00 2001 Received: by oss.sgi.com id ; Fri, 9 Feb 2001 18:41:41 -0800 Received: from taz.cs.utah.edu ([155.99.203.51]:22214 "HELO taz.cs.utah.edu") by oss.sgi.com with SMTP id ; Fri, 9 Feb 2001 18:41:25 -0800 Received: by taz.cs.utah.edu (Mailer, from userid 1363) id 3034BB27748; Fri, 9 Feb 2001 19:41:23 -0700 (MST) Message-Id: <10102091941.ZM253757@taz.cs.utah.edu> In-Reply-To: John Wright "Re: New ProPak?"
