I have a copy Michal Kara's last pcpmon release (1.3.3 I think) parked on a server somewhere around here. Let me know, and I will email you a copy. Maybe the guys at SGI would be willing to park some adjunct (i.e. PCP related) open source code on their server as a repository. It might make it easier (and help facilitate) the continued development of projects like pcpmon even if the original author has moved on. - Alan - From dawson@fnal.gov Tue May 6 05:45:44 2003 Received: with ECARTIS (v1.0.0; list pcp); Tue, 06 May 2003 05:45:49 -0700 (PDT) Received: from woozle.fnal.gov (woozle.fnal.gov [131.225.9.22]) by oss.sgi.com (8.12.9/8.12.9) with SMTP id h46CjgFu006602 for ; Tue, 6 May 2003 05:45:43 -0700 Received: from fnal.gov (thebrain.fnal.gov [131.225.80.75]) by woozle.fnal.gov (iPlanet Messaging Server 5.2 HotFix 1.10 (built Jan 23 2003)) with ESMTPSA id <0HEG0033SU46AL@woozle.fnal.gov> for pcp@oss.sgi.com; Tue, 06 May 2003 07:45:42 -0500 (CDT) Date: Tue, 06 May 2003 07:45:41 -0500 From: Troy Dawson Subject: Re: pcpmon and pcp-pro In-reply-to: <3EB73C20.6080000@earthlink.net> To: Alan Hoyt Cc: pcp@oss.sgi.com Message-id: <3EB7AE75.5020006@fnal.gov> MIME-version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT X-Accept-Language: en-us, en User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20030225 References: <3EA6AEDC.7060706@fnal.gov> <3EB73C20.6080000@earthlink.net> X-archive-position: 259 X-ecartis-version: Ecartis v1.0.0 Sender: pcp-bounce@oss.sgi.com Errors-to: pcp-bounce@oss.sgi.com X-original-sender: dawson@fnal.gov Precedence: bulk X-list: pcp Hi, No, I found a source rpm, so I have the source code, and everything is working. It was more of a curiousity question, though it would be nice to expand the graphical tools. This was a proprietary add-on in the days before the open source release of any of PCP. This product no longer exists (so the salesperson is correct). There are plans underway to turn over this source code to the community once we've negotatiated the transition. This has been signed-off by the Open Source Review Board within SGI, and the ball is in my court to complete the transitional arrangements with an external volunteer who will become the maintainer for this code. I would be willing to "volunteer" to be the maintainer of the code, as I am nearly finished with my own Oracle PMDA as I type this. I've been working on it, albeit slowly, for a few months now and I would be very interested to see how my agent compares with the one SGI wrote. Let me know how can I help. Thanks!
