I am now back into the project of trying to get the SGI sample implementation to build for our projects, which is non-Linux and non- X11 based. Hence I am about to sync up via CVS to the latest sources, and I need to figure out how to generate the public header files as part of the build process. You mentioned above that you were converting the header file generation stuff to pure perl instead of perl/awk. Is this done yet? Alternatively I can sync all this stuff onto a Linux box and do a build there. Instead of doing a full build of everything, is it possible just to build the public header files on a Linux box? The CVS tree is more up-to-date than the tarball (which will soon be remedied). > You mentioned above that you were converting the header file > generation stuff to pure perl instead of perl/awk. After you define the necessary environment variables (i.e. ROOT, TOPDIR, XTOPDIR [if you need GLX for some reason], GLPRODUCT [which should equal "DDX"] ... I think that's it) to the appropriate directories, then all you would need to do is: make tools_install # install the necessary Makefile bits in $ROOT cd main/gfx/include make install # create hdrs and install in $ROOT/usr/include/GL That should do the trick for getting the necessary headers. Let us know if you run into problems. Thanx, Dave --------------------------------------------------------------------- Dave Shreiner Silicon Graphics, Inc. The simplest way to access the bug system is by using the new links off of the project page: http://oss.sgi.com/projects/ogl-sample/ and selecting either the "Submit" link or the "View all" link (under the "Bugs" entry on the left had side of the page). In order to submit a bug, you will first need to create a Bugzilla account. You will automatically be taken to the account creation page the first time you attempt to submit a bug. Creating an account is very simple and only requires an email address; a password for the account will be emailed to that account. Please feel free to submit bugs and let us know how we're doing. I also asked about whether the optimised geometry code would be released from the SGI OGL DDK for Windows. At the time I was told that both of the above were possibilities, so I am checking in to find out what the current status is. Has any of this been released yet? If not, will it be, and how long before it will be? Finally there is no wgl code in the SGI SI implementation, so for developing using this for Windows environments, the implementation is less than useful (in contrast to the full glx implementation included). Since a full wgl implementation is included in the SGI OGL for Windows, is there any possibility that this code could be released under the SGI Open Source license?
