This causes processes to switch in and change the state. I saw this behavior with the automounter switching in and causing another kernel panic. Does context switching need to be disabled while the dump is ongoing and if so, how is this accomplished. Thanks Les. I was trying to patch the 1.04 version to 2.2.16. I believe the beta version is what I should have been using. I have 1.04 running on 2.2.14 right now and will try 7.0 again next week with the Beta version. So please ignore my previous message. Ed At 10:54 AM 10/13/00 -0700, Matt D. Well, when I first wrote the code a long time ago, I thought that smp_send_stop() would be sufficient to lock down all the rest of the processors, but I didn't take care of the processor that was doing the dumping.
