When we enter the break key, somehow minicom seems to eat that away, and not send it to the application... so iam not able to enter from the minicom session. I tried to break from the kb attached, and that seemed to work, after that the minicom session can accept input etc properly I tried sending break with ctrl-a F but that doesn't seem to work yet. Is there another tool that I can send the break properly other than minicom? The term 'break key' is misleading, there is a real break key and there is also a kdb break-in sequence which can be any set of characters, the default for the kdb break-in code is control-A. I am assuming that you mean control-A to enter kdb. Minicom uses control-A itself. If you want to pass control-A through minicom to the program you are talking to, press control-A twice. Do not use control-A F for kdb. That sends a real break code, which is not what kdb uses. As I say, the default kdb entry sequence is control-A but that can be changed. See kdb/kdbmain.c:kdb_serial_str for your kdb entry key. Heads up: control-A conflicts with gnu readline editting (start of line). kdb v5.0 (WIP) will use KDB by default. No, kallsyms does not support cross compilation. You will have to hack your own version that runs on i386 but handles xscale. Rather than just sending a patch, I figured I should bring it up for discussion a bit first, as I figured that folks might have some opinions about the right interface for this. In my case, it turns out that the hardware was corrupting the 11th address bit, and so I would have needed to grep for all pointers pointing into the given page to get a hint about the problem. And for that matter, only 2.4.x where x is the latest. If you want kdb for RedHat's customized kernel, you will need to do the work yourself to port it. Better yet, ask RedHat directly. -tduffy --=20 Thomas Duffy --=-JRrp8W9AHigR9Pagoc0Y Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name=signature.asc Content-Description: This is a digitally signed message part -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQA/nsc4dY502zjzwbwRAuAQAJ0Y2CZMV4cV6JtbcIIp18NvrLGYgACffGAU UWBadG9/NgZEj7bXRSEoId4= =2lJe -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --=-JRrp8W9AHigR9Pagoc0Y--
