As it's still in an early development cycle I would like to mention Acme, a user interface for programmers originally implemented by Rob Pike. As it is mentioned in a related paper ... ``The usual typescript style of interaction with Unix and its relatives is an old one. The typescriptan intermingling of textual commands and their outputoriginates with the scrolls of paper on teletypes. The advent of windowed terminals has given each user what amounts to an array of teletypes, a limited and unimaginative use of the powers of bitmap displays and mice. Systems like the Macintosh that do involve the mouse as an integral part of the interaction are geared towards general users, not experts, and certainly not programmers. Software developers, at least on time-sharing systems, have been left behind''. ( http://plan9.bell-labs.com/plan9/doc/acme.html ) Although, Acme supposed to consist as an internal part of Plan 9 (a Bell Labs operating system designed in the early 90's) this specific project seems to be discontinued nowadays. Maybe Jessie could benefit by their design in some of its aspects. Regards, Theodore. For instance, when you hit a breakpoint, you have it run a python script. I saw this as a great thing because you could put *real* analytics in your conditional breakpoints.
