Solution: set Offscreen Renderer to RGB_TRANSPARANCY in order to make sure that the maximum Resolution returned is related to the Render Mode using up most space. Than query the max resolution and DPI and save both in member variables :) cu Christoph From owner-info-inventor@oss.sgi.com Mon Oct 1 10:06:03 2001 Received: (from majordomo@localhost) by oss.sgi.com (8.11.2/8.11.3) id f91H63Z22410 for info-inventor-outgoing; Mon, 1 Oct 2001 10:06:03 -0700 Received: from opal.cs.tu-berlin.de (root@opal.cs.tu-berlin.de [130.149.17.5]) by oss.sgi.com (8.11.2/8.11.3) with SMTP id f91H60D22407 for ; Mon, 1 Oct 2001 10:06:00 -0700 Received: from freno.cs.tu-berlin.de (haykel@freno.cs.tu-berlin.de [130.149.17.167]) by opal.cs.tu-berlin.de (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id TAA20157 for ; Mon, 1 Oct 2001 19:03:09 +0200 (MET DST) Received: (from haykel@localhost) by freno.cs.tu-berlin.de (8.9.3/8.9.3) id TAA25508 for info-inventor@oss.sgi.com; Mon, 1 Oct 2001 19:03:08 +0200 (MET DST) Date: Mon, 1 Oct 2001 19:03:08 +0200 From: Haykel ben Jemia To: info-inventor@oss.sgi.com Subject: SoNodeSensor and SoTranSender/SoTranReceiver Message-ID: <20011001190308.A25414@freno.cs.tu-berlin.de> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii X-Mailer: Mutt 1.0i Sender: owner-inventor@oss.sgi.com Precedence: bulk Hi, I want to write an Application that monitors changes in a scenegraph and send them over the network. I found that I can use SoNodeSensor and SoTranSender/SoTranReceiver, but I have the following problems: 1. How can I get a pointer to a node that is added/removed from a scenegraph? (I just get a pointer to the root of the scenegraph) 2. I noticed that SoTranSender sends the memory addresses of the nodes to identify them, does it mean that I have to send the hole scenegraph before I can start sending the changes or can I also make the communicating programs load the same scenegraph from a file? 3. When exactly should I use prepareToSend()? 4. Is there a better way to do waht I want to do:) ?
