What this means is that you'll have to install the JPEG library on your own. I've tried it with a very minimally modified SoTexture2.c++, along with libjpeg-6b-10 and libjpeg-devel-6b-10. My testing has shown no ill effects; JPEG images can be used as texture as before. Does anyone have any objections to this? I'm running Redhat 6.2, Mesa and Motif 1.2. When I add Inventor I have no trouble with the make or the link. But on execution I get the following immediately: "BUG IN DYNAMIC LINKER ld.so: dl-version.c: 210: _dl_check_map_version: Assertion 'needed != ((void *) 0)' failed! I've tried manipulating the link list without success. If I take Inventor out of the link list, then no problem -- but no Inventor. Any help would be appreciated. If I take > Inventor out of the link list, then no problem -- but no Inventor. I had the same with my SoFree Inventor clone and Mesa. For me it came from the fact that I had two Mesa versions installed and that I had a mess between the one put in the include path and the one in the link, load path. In fact there is now (RedHat 6.2) a Mesa under /usr/X11R6/lib, and you think perhaps that you use another one (a more recent version) somewhere else. I solved the problem by compelling everywhere Mesa includes (the one I want, not the one under /usr/X11R6/lib) to be before -I/usr/X11R6/include. Hope it could help.
