I had to tweak a few things, but it seems to work fine. It is possible that someone has already posted instructions for compiling under cygwin, but just in case: A tar file containing the changed files can be downloaded from: http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~job/Tmp/inventor-patch_only.tar These files are modified versions of the ones from Inventor 2.1.5-10. There is a readme with instructions on how to use them. For reference, and convenience, the modified files along with the 2.1.5-10 files can be had from here: http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~job/Tmp/inventor-patch_and_2.1.5-10.tar.gz Everything was compiled using gcc version 3.3.1 under Win2K. Enjoy. It would be nice if someone would integrate the changes into the files hosted by SGI. (After making sure I did not break anything for non-cygwin systems.) - James From brifusg@yahoo.com.sg Sun Feb 1 18:39:30 2004 Received: with ECARTIS (v1.0.0; list info-inventor-dev); Sun, 01 Feb 2004 18:39:34 -0800 (PST) Received: from web21323.mail.yahoo.com (web21323.mail.yahoo.com [216.136.175.209]) by oss.sgi.com (8.12.10/8.12.9) with SMTP id i122dU7J009024 for ; Sun, 1 Feb 2004 18:39:30 -0800 Message-ID: <20040202023920.95658.qmail@web21323.mail.yahoo.com> Received: from [137.132.3.11] by web21323.mail.yahoo.com via HTTP; Mon, 02 Feb 2004 10:39:20 CST Date: Mon, 2 Feb 2004 10:39:20 +0800 (CST) From: =?iso-8859-1?q?Tran=20Hong=20Quang?= Subject: unsubcribe To: info-inventor-dev@oss.sgi.com In-Reply-To: <200402020055.i120tEV03526@imladris.cs.berkeley.edu> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-archive-position: 84 X-ecartis-version: Ecartis v1.0.0 Sender: info-inventor-dev-bounce@oss.sgi.com Errors-to: info-inventor-dev-bounce@oss.sgi.com X-original-sender: brifusg@yahoo.com.sg Precedence: bulk X-list: info-inventor-dev Please remove me from the list. I have the same problem with Performer apps on RH9. You need to compile your source with the gcc option: -Wl,--wrap,__ctype_b then compile an object (.o) from the following source #include extern "C" { __const unsigned short int **__wrap___ctype_b (void) { return __ctype_b_loc(); } } and link it in. good luck. ml John Harris wrote: >Hi, I just tried compiling the latest inventor in Red Hat Fedora and am >getting linker errors like: undefined reference to `__ctype_b'.
