Hi there,

I'm using Qt 3.0.5 and was wondering if there are already some "dll" (soqt,
inventor) available for this version. I found the binaries for "qt220" and
if really necessary I'll go back to that version, but I'd rather use
"qt-mt305".

Where did you find this? That SoQt DLL would be seriously outdated, so
please notify the provider about it.

Our SoQt Qt<->Inventor interface library can be compiled on top of any
version of Qt >= 2.0.0, including the latest 3.0.5.

There is no pre-compiled version available for download, but the
sourcecode can be found here:

If you have problems getting it to build, we can assist you.

OSS SGI Inventor for WIN32 does not depend on additional libraries.

I am aware of that. If I find some spare time (in ~2 weeks) I will provide
new binaries @ http://www.studierstube.org/openinventor/

Download a new SoQt version and use Qt 3.05.

Qt version 2.30 required some modifications of the SoQt Makefiles (add

  when I compiled inventor 2.1.5.9, i got the

I was able to build OpenInventor (static libs only) on our large AIX 
system.  While there were many small changes, there were not any real 
killer issues.  Is there interest in capturing my work in the central 
repository for others' benefit?  How would I go about making this

Just installed bison 1.75 here, and the inventor build died with
the following diagnostic:

  /usr/bin/yacc SoCalcParse.y

I am working on Open Source Open Inventor (OSOIV) and Qt for windows. =
Has anyone worked on incorporating collision detection in OSOIV? I know =
that TGS Open Inventor has collision detection classes but it is not =
Open source :(
So if anyone has worked on incorporating collision detection on OSOIV =
please let me know how they have done so.=20

Not *directly* related to SGI's Open Inventor, but we're currently
working on collision detection support in the Coin library, which is a
clone of the Inventor API.

So far, the SoIntersectionDetectionAction of TGS's API has been
implemented to work with bounding box intersections. We expect to have
the collision detection support working on the detailed level with
primitives completed the coming week.

hi again,

yesterday, i sent a bug report and a fix for it concerning corrupted
geometry in binary inventor files.

i just compiled inventor with gcc-3.2 and the bug disappeared.
nevertheless, the bugfix is still interesting for those working with
gcc-2.95.x
