Solution: set Offscreen Renderer to RGB_TRANSPARANCY in order to make sure that the maximum Resolution returned is related to the Render Mode using up most space. Than query the max resolution and DPI and save both in member variables :) cu Christoph From owner-info-inventor-dev@oss.sgi.com Tue Oct 2 13:36:43 2001 Received: (from majordomo@localhost) by oss.sgi.com (8.11.2/8.11.3) id f92Kahs25139 for info-inventor-dev-outgoing; Tue, 2 Oct 2001 13:36:43 -0700 Received: from proxy.vc-graz.ac.at (proxy.vc-graz.ac.at [193.171.240.253]) by oss.sgi.com (8.11.2/8.11.3) with SMTP id f92KaZD25135; Tue, 2 Oct 2001 13:36:35 -0700 Received: from sbox.tugraz.at (g-66.vc-graz.ac.at [193.171.246.66]) by proxy.vc-graz.ac.at (8.12.0/8.12.0) with ESMTP id f92KZa3A002832; Tue, 2 Oct 2001 22:35:43 +0200 (MEST) Message-ID: <3BBA2740.1@sbox.tugraz.at> Date: Tue, 02 Oct 2001 22:44:48 +0200 From: Christoph =?ISO-8859-1?Q?Hinterm=FCller?= User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; de-AT; rv:0.9.2) Gecko/20010628 X-Accept-Language: de-at, de, en, en-us MIME-Version: 1.0 Newsgroups: comp.graphics.api.inventor To: info-inventor , info-inventor-dev Subject: Fonts for SoText2 (SoFont,SoFontStyle) Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Virus-Scanned: by AMaViS-perl11-milter (http://amavis.org/) Sender: owner-info-inventor-dev@oss.sgi.com Precedence: bulk Hi I do have the following problem For exporting the content of the shown scene as and Image for inclusion into a paper I have coded a SoText2 and SoFont(Style) based module via which one can label parts of the scene but i do have the following problems with the Fonts themselves 1) if i let the psfontpath (UNIX) beeing the default one I do only have 2 fonts a normal and a Bold one 2) if i do extend the psfont path to all fontpathes known on the system so it might be possible that the font selected by the user via a font dialog can be found, the font is found but can't be displayed -> what do I have to set in the SoFontStyle node to get the font displayed (basically) -> how can i check wether a font is displayable by Inventor or not -> how to compile a fontname (style) so that inventor picks the correct font when talking above about fontname/style I mean: Arial Times (new) Roman ... and these are meant as they are further i do need a solution which also holds for windows (eg using #ifdefs) cu Christoph -- THESIS: God is alive PROOVE: Who else would have scheduled the mankind and world first recommendation of research???? Above-below stereo consist of separating the screen in 2 areas (above and below), drawing the left view in the above part and right view in the below part. I am wondering if the simplest is to directly extent SoXtViewer as it is there that the wall stereo thing is happening (SoXtViewer::setStereoViewing, SoXtViewer::actualRedraw)? Thanks in advance. It's installed on a dell Inspiron 8000 laptop with the NVidia GeForce2go video card. Has anyone found a fix for this? Thank you much...
