This patch simply allows one to specify nfs_polling_interval (-t) and idle_timeout (-T) in fam.conf. It also corrects a minor discrepancy in usage() that says the default nfs_polling_interval is 3 seconds (it's supposed to be 6). Affected files: main.c++, fam.conf.in, and fam.1m.in. These files, and the attached patch, are available at http://www.csua.berkeley.edu/~mjm/fam If there are any problems, please contact me. This is my very first patch, so I might have made a mistake. I used diff -urN, which seems to be the freebsd style, and my patch works for the ports system. Tarball of apps using automake/autoconf for distribution are normally generated using "make dist". Now it differs from the original tarball available at oss.sgi.com what is not nice to the users. Another thing I would like to see is the dnotify patch being included in the sources. Imon is rarely used in a Linux environment and everyone works with dnotify as the kernel provides it. Can one expect a new release (say 2.6.7) made with 'make dist' and perhaps those patches included (Alex has two more bugfixing patches in the RPM sources)? I've filed 2 bugs, in SGI OSS Bugzilla , BZ 99 and BZ 100. I'm trying to make a release really soon now, so I'll fix 99, and will do 100 if there's time. The patches that Rusty (the previous maintainer) did used -Naur, which is equivalent to the options you used in this case. I don't really care what the diff type is, but -a is a good idea, as it works better if the original has changed.
