I realize that such a wrapper would be quite simple, but IMHO it would be better than the fam.h interface from a C++ prespective. There isn't one that I know of; however, the KDE KDirWatch class might serve as a starting place. (Or if you use KDE, it would be nice if there were a KFileWatch class too. There may already be; it's been a while since I last looked.) Also, there have been at least a couple of different C++ wrappers around fam used internally in various SGI desktop libraries, if you're interested, but if you're doing it for fun, I imagine you probably want to start from scratch. :) --Rusty -- Source code, list archive, and docs: http://oss.sgi.com/projects/fam/ To unsubscribe: echo unsubscribe fam | mail majordomo@oss.sgi.com From owner-fam@oss.sgi.com Sat Jul 8 02:12:16 2000 Received: by oss.sgi.com id ; Sat, 8 Jul 2000 02:12:07 -0700 Received: from mail03.syd.optusnet.com.au ([203.2.75.106]:14293 "EHLO mail03.syd.optusnet.com.au") by oss.sgi.com with ESMTP id ; Sat, 8 Jul 2000 02:11:54 -0700 Received: from dingoblue.net.au (golax1-169.dialup.optusnet.com.au [198.142.183.169]) by mail03.syd.optusnet.com.au (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id TAA15150 for ; Sat, 8 Jul 2000 19:11:27 +1000 Message-ID: <3966F145.6BF00713@dingoblue.net.au> Date: Sat, 08 Jul 2000 19:15:49 +1000 From: monkeyiq@dingoblue.net.au X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.73 [en] (X11; I; Linux 2.2.15-uhji i686) X-Accept-Language: en MIME-Version: 1.0 To: fam-list Subject: [fam] Fam++ RFC Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Sender: owner-fam@oss.sgi.com Precedence: bulk Return-Path: X-Orcpt: rfc822;fam-outgoing Finally it is out there... http://monkeyiq.esmartweb.com/ I know it needs automake/conf and some doco, I will prolly get around to this in the next week or so, but then again... -- Nowadays you can even use Gimp on that thing from Redmond they call an OS. -- Source code, list archive, and docs: http://oss.sgi.com/projects/fam/ To unsubscribe: echo unsubscribe fam | mail majordomo@oss.sgi.com
