There is also a new CSA csa-job-acct-1.0.1-1 command package to go along with these patches. Please read the description in the ChangeLog file from the download link at oss.sgi.com/projects/csa. The highlights are: 1) The CSA module code can now be compiled directly into the kernel or a portion compiled as a loadable module during the kernel build rather than requiring a separate build step. 2) The new commands package fixes a problem with csackpacct and adds support for workload management daemon accounting records. 3) The kernel patches and commands packages are available for both i386 and ia64 systems running Linux 2.4.0 or 2.4.1 kernels. ---- Marlys Kohnke Silicon Graphics Inc. kohnke@sgi.com 655F Lone Oak Drive (651)683-5324 Eagan, MN 55121 From owner-csa@oss.sgi.com Tue Feb 27 02:25:09 2001 Received: by oss.sgi.com id ; Tue, 27 Feb 2001 02:24:49 -0800 Received: from mail.ncst.ernet.in ([202.141.150.16]:9989 "EHLO mail.ncst.ernet.in") by oss.sgi.com with ESMTP id ; Tue, 27 Feb 2001 02:24:41 -0800 Received: from konark.ncst.ernet.in (konark.ncst.ernet.in [202.141.151.1]) by mail.ncst.ernet.in (8.9.3/8.9.3) with ESMTP id QAA06097 for ; Tue, 27 Feb 2001 16:06:41 +0500 (GMT+0500) Received: from localhost by konark.ncst.ernet.in (8.9.3/8.9.1) with ESMTP id PAA07342; Tue, 27 Feb 2001 15:54:47 -0500 (GMT) Date: Tue, 27 Feb 2001 15:54:46 -0500 (GMT) From: Chandrakant Reddy To: csa@oss.sgi.com cc: Amey r Pathak Subject: REG CSA installation Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-csa@oss.sgi.com Precedence: bulk Return-Path: X-Orcpt: rfc822;csa-outgoing Hi, I have patched the kernel with the patches provided with CSA Package but we are getting errors during the compillation (" error : segmentation fault "). They're not recommended for doing kernel builds. We use Red Hat 6.2 compilers. So, I don't think your segmentation fault during a build has anything to do with the CSA patches. --- Marlys Kohnke Silicon Graphics Inc. kohnke@sgi.com 655F Lone Oak Drive (651)683-5324 Eagan, MN 55121
