FYI, a new lockmeter patch is available, to apply against the 2.3.99-pre2 kernel source. The patch consists of the same basic lockmeter functionality as before (supporting both IA32 and Alpha), but has just been tweaked to cleanly patch the 2.3.99-pre2 source. http://oss.sgi.com/projects/lockmeter is the general explanation, and http://oss.sgi.com/projects/lockmeter/download/lockmeter1.1.4-2.3.99-pre 2.diff.gz is the latest diff.
