Is anyone actively working on getting gzip compression to work with LKCD (dump and lcrash)? Before I spend too much time looking at it I thought I'd check that I'm not duplicating anyone else's effort. I've fixed the bugs that I've found in the drivers/dump gzip code, and the resulting code manages about a 4:1 compression ratio on my test system. Of course, since I can't read the dump with lcrash (yet), it's a little hard to pin any validity on that number ... Thanks, Tony Dziedzic Storigen Systems, Inc. |
