It appears that the SuSe distribution has a different lex. Lex is a symb link to flex on TL and RH but is a 'exec flex -l $*' on Suse... I just checked in a version of the sial Makefile that forces flex on sourceforge. I know for sure the the -l option triggers the insertion of #define YY_USES_REJECT.
