Yea, we'd love to, but unfortunately we have to try to fix this,
since we shouldn't have to worry about what compiler someone uses
(theoretically). If it's not fixable, fine, but if there's a way
to work around a compiler issue, we're obligated to do that, since
we don't want to have to go telling people "Oh, you have to use
compiler X.Y.ZZ-A.B.C.". I agree with you about the compilers,
BTW.
