I should not that I'm a bit reluctant to push changes of which I neither
know the status in detail nor know that I can blindly the version on oss
to be the Only True One (TM) to their upstream maintainers.

Well, this was in the assumption that Linus takes my recent patch.  He
didn't, so our diff against stock kernel are now more like 400kb most of
which are mips / mips64 architecture stuff and related drivers.  As you
say I'll keep resending ...

Getting the diff down to zero is possible but it will take some more
work.
