kdb 1.2 is hopelessly out of date and has poor module support.  Upgrade
to a more recent kdb from ftp://oss.sgi.com/projects/kdb/download.  And
before you ask, SGI are not maintaining kdb for 2.2 kernels, only for
2.4.
