Hi Bram,

I got this exact message initially, but I managed to fix it (somehow, I
never found out the meaning of the error). I saw someone mention several
versions of Mesa as a problem, and that was it. I had at least two
versions in various places (/usr/lib/ and /usr/X11R6/lib/), so I removed
every libGL* I could find and reinstalled the most recent version, and
then it worked. Maybe the cause is an old version of Mesa, I don't know.
I'm also running Debian.

  Johan
