Actually, I think you probably meant IVROOT, since the source I just
checked out
has IVPREFIX=/usr
I tried IVROOT, as per your original docs, and it worked. Thanks.

/usr/bin/libtool -L//usr/lib -L../libimage -L../libFL/freetype
-dynamic -all_load -L/usr/X11R6/lib -L/sw/lib libInventor.a -ljpeg
-limage -lFL -lfreetype -lmx -lXm -lXt -lX11 -lGLU -lGL -liconv -ldl
-lcc_dynamic -lstdc++ -o libInventor.dylib
There was an additional change that I had to make manually, but I
submitted it only as a note in my second patch:
"Also, because of issues related to the case-insensitivity of the HFS+
file system, you will need to set the IVPREFIX environment variable to
something other than "/" before starting the build process. The file
/usr/lib/libfl.a will cause a build error otherwise."
With a different IVPREFIX, things worked fine for me. Yours is left as
'/', as evidenced by the -L//usr/lib. If you have fink installed, you
might try using the version included with it. I think it works since
it's already installing into a different destination.
Hope that helps,
Chris
