It would go something like this:
childA->ref(); // make sure ref-count don't go to zero
parentX->replaceChild(childA, childB);
parentY->replaceChild(childB, childA);
childA->unref(); // set back ref-count
..where parentX is the original parent of A, and parentY for B.
