imon for 2.5

The other day, I switched to using dnotify instead of imon 
for fam, since I had upgraded my kernel to the 2.5 series. 
I am finding dnotify to be quite a drag on my system.  The 
imon module interface seems to be far superior to dnotify in 
terms of performance.  I know that it was discontinued, but 
is there any chance you might revisit the imon patch in 2.5? 
 If not the original author, I do hope someone might 
considier updating it.
