You can also try the --noscripts option in rpm to prevent it from trying to remove the entries. There might be other things the uninstall part of the .spec might doing too though.

The quick way might be to create a dummy /etc/inetd.conf.

The FAM line would look something like:
sgi_fam/1-2 stream rpc/tcp wait root /usr/local/bin/fam fam
