[fam] Fam with xinetd?

Is there anyway possible to run fam with xinetd without using a rpm? 
For those of us who dont use a rpm based distro this seems to be a 
problem...   I can start fam oc by su root "fam -T 0" and it works fine 
... but i would like for it to start with Xinted like the rpm does... is 
there anywork on a source file for this??
