Thanks, this will be very useful.

There has been no FAM release since 2.6.4, however I am working on one.
The release may be a little while away, because I am integrating many
bug fixes from the IRIX version of FAM into this version. I apologize
for the delay.

FAM and IMON certainly are being maintained, but I am quite busy. I
greatly appreciate any help from the community, and I'm sorry I haven't
dedicated sufficient time to fully test and release the patches you
have submitted.

There is currently no FAM CVS repository, but I intend to create one
when all other tasks are done (new FAM release, and so on).

It's great to hear this. Can I be of any assistance? Have you been
able to build a satisfactory RPM from the sources provided in the
download area? Have you had any difficulties using FAM with xinetd?

I would say that FAM has been well-tested, since it is used in the
latest development version of Enlightenment, and has also been used
with KDE and Nautilus. The open source version of FAM does not differ
greatly from the FAM that has been used on SGI'S IRIX operating systems
for several years, so FAM should be fairly mature software.

On the other hand, IMON hooks into the Linux kernel in a different
manner than the it does the IRIX kernel, so there is a possibility that
IMON still has some issues introduced in the porting process. It may
be fair to say that IMON has not yet received as much testing as I
would like, and this is why I feel it was important to release a
fully-working IMON patch for the Linux 2.4 kernel.

Thank you for your feedback (and your patch).
