There isn't one that I know of; however, the KDE KDirWatch class might
serve as a starting place.  (Or if you use KDE, it would be nice if there
were a KFileWatch class too.  There may already be; it's been a while since
I last looked.)  Also, there have been at least a couple of different C++
wrappers around fam used internally in various SGI desktop libraries, if
you're interested, but if you're doing it for fun, I imagine you probably
want to start from scratch. :)
