The namespace issues are a bit separate from what I was talking about, but the device names would remain predictable in any case. If you used this mechanism very naively you could shoot yourself in the foot of course, but you can do that now. The ultimate goal is to make the names much more predictable by having them appear as things like /dev/scsi/busN/.../rdisc, etc., but I haven't got that far yet. :j |
