I forward it in case there is already solution. I myself is in the same
position but I'd rather avoid reinventing the wheel.
The problem is with devfs+ide-scsi there is no /dev/hdc (or
/dev/ide/...) if hdc is ide-scsi'd so it is impossible to use hdparm.
