I'm sorry to say that this patch does not seem to work for me. I applied it
to 2.4.17-pre5, and installed the new kernel and rebooted with no media in
my ZIP 250 drive. The drive did not show in either /dev/discs or /dev/ide at
all. It _was_ found by the ide driver and ide-floppy driver (version 0.97.sv
as shipped with 2.4.17-pre5), but did not show in up the /dev heirarchy
anywhere.
