Hi,

I have the following problem with devfs:

I have a LS120 floppy on the IDE controller as hda.

If there is no floppy in the drive when the ide modules are
loaded, no device node is created for the floppy by devfs.
If a floppy is inserted later, devfs doesn't notice, so that
there still is no device node.
Consequently, the floppy cannot be accessed in any way even though
the modules are loaded.

All I can do is rmmod ide-floppy,
insert the disk, and than reload the module. I think this is
pretty uncomfortable for users.

Is there any way to make devfs create a device node for the
floppy even if no floppy is inserted at boot time?

Martin
