Greetings, Is there any plans to unify devfs and the usbdevfs? Devfs and devfsd seem to be positioned well to handle dynamic buses like USB. However, generic Linux 2.4 user-land USB access is currently performed using usbdevfs, (like devfs), usb_permd (like devfsd), and libusb. I've seen a lot of discussion about hot-swap devices and Linux lately, though none from the devfs camp. What plans exist for supporting things like USB with devfs? -- W. Michael Petullo :wq |
