help on hdparm

i´m not sure if this is to list to ask  it but i´ll try anyway.
hdparm can´t set the setdma flag HDIO_SET_DMA and give the error permission
denied. it´s the cause of devfs becaus on exactly the same system but with
normal nodes it works just fine. Ok hdparm prolly is not adapted to work
with devfs. but has anyone encountered the problem and is there a fix?
