        From what I had tried, it wasn't real easy. there were a slewful of 
rejections. parts of the patch that failed. You may try to piece the right 
parts of the patch into the 2.2.18 source manually, but I think it would be 
harder to do.

        On another note, I found it quite easy to jump from 2.2.17 (where I 
was), straight to 2.4.0. DevFS is already in the source, and makes things TONS 
easier. Once again, YMMV.
