Let me partially respond to my own question. I CAN get to this device
if I
mknod /dev/hdd b 22 64
mknod /dev/hdd1 b 22 65
mknod /dev/hdd4 b 22 68
So, is this a problem of the ide-floppy driver not being devfs aware or am I
doing something ELSE that is causing these devices (or devices with more
appropriate names) not to be made automagically?
