I'm very new to devfs - I just heard about it for the first time yesterday
and finally got it running right this morning. It seems to be working as
advertised w/ just one problem: sound is not working.
There is no /dev/sound directory at all. The system in question is using a
Soundblaster LIve! card, which uses the emu10k1.o module. I have not modified
any of the devfsd config files.
On another system that doesn't use devfs, but has the same exact hardware,
the /etc/modules.conf file entry for the sound card looks like this (if it
matters):
alias sound-slot-0 emu10k1
on the system in question I also added
alias /dev/sound emu10k1
which seems like an unusual entry to me, but I think I got it from one of the
devfsd config files.
Am I doing something wrong?
