chroot gaol

Hi all,

I am a new comer to devfs. I successfully compiled devfs v99.16 into
kernel 2.2.16 and running devfsd-v1.3.10. devfs works nicely for me. But
I need to run some "expect" scripts in a chroot gaol. The scripts fail
to spawn due to unable to allocate ptys. I have read that the
multi-mount facility has been removed. Is there any way round my problem
if I want to stay with kernel 2.2? Thanks for any recommendation or
pointing out my mistakes.
